AI Q&A & Writing

OmniBox AI is the intelligent assistant inside OmniBox. You can use it to ask questions about your knowledge base, search for up-to-date information, organize materials, create content, and let Agent 2.1 handle more complex knowledge base tasks.

If the knowledge base is where you “save materials,” OmniBox AI is where you “put those materials to work”: it helps you find answers, create content, keep useful results, and save answers back to your knowledge base when needed.

What You Can Do

  • Ask your knowledge base: Answer questions based on uploaded or collected resources, with citations.
  • Search the web: Find latest news, industry updates, real-time data, and information outside your knowledge base.
  • AI writing: Generate articles, summaries, lists, reports, emails, or plans from your instructions.
  • Deep thinking: Let AI analyze complex questions more thoroughly before answering.
  • Organize materials: Let Agent 2.1 read multiple resources, extract key points, and create summary documents.
  • Manage your knowledge base: Let Agent 2.1 create folders, collect webpages, move resources, and add tags.
  • Save preferences: Let Agent 2.1 remember long-term preferences, team conventions, or fixed output formats.

Which Agent Should You Use

OmniBox AI currently provides two ways to work: Agent 1.1 and Agent 2.1.

GoalRecommended AgentBest for
Quick Q&A, writing, and searchAgent 1.1Daily Q&A, knowledge base Q&A, web search, AI writing
Let AI complete a task step by stepAgent 2.1Organizing materials, creating summaries, managing the knowledge base, collecting webpages, multi-step tasks

In short:

  • Agent 1.1 is more like a Q&A assistant that can search and write.
  • Agent 2.1 is more like a task assistant that can read materials, organize your knowledge base, and perform actions for you.

Basic Conversation Features

Whether you use Agent 1.1 or Agent 2.1, conversation pages support:

  • Collapsed intermediate steps: Intermediate steps in AI answers are collapsed by default, making the main answer easier to read.
  • Left-side navigation: Quickly return to a conversation turn or intermediate step.
  • Message timing: View each message's creation time and answer time. Merged messages show generation duration.
  • Back to bottom: Return to the latest answer after reviewing earlier content in a long conversation.
  • Default questions: When there is no visible chat history, the chat input includes default questions to help you get started.

When using Agent 2.1, the conversation page also shows context usage, including used percentage, remaining percentage, and token usage, which helps you decide whether to wrap up a long conversation or start a new one.

Agent 1.1

Agent 1.1 is suitable for most daily Q&A and writing needs. It can search your knowledge base or the web based on your question, then generate an answer with citations.

Use Agent 1.1 when you want to:

  • Quickly understand a concept or question
  • Ask questions about a specific file
  • Search for the latest information
  • Generate copy, summaries, emails, or reports
  • Save an AI answer to your personal namespace

Agent 2.1

Agent 2.1 is better for more complex tasks. You do not need to break every step down yourself. Describe the goal, and it will decide what to read first, whether it needs to search, and whether your knowledge base needs to be organized. If it needs to edit, move, delete, or create resources, it will ask for your confirmation first.

Use Agent 2.1 when you want to:

  • Let AI search, read, and summarize many materials
  • Turn multiple files into a weekly report, meeting summary, or project brief
  • Add tags, move files, or create folders in your knowledge base
  • Collect a webpage to a specific place and generate a summary or tags
  • Ask AI to propose an organization plan first, then decide whether to execute it
  • Work on long conversations, multi-resource tasks, or ask OmniBox product questions
  • Use manual confirmation, auto-approve, or auto-reject approval modes to control execution risk

Common Scenarios

Knowledge Base Q&A

If you have uploaded files, collected webpages, or organized materials, you can ask OmniBox directly. OmniBox AI will search your knowledge base and show citations in the answer so you can trace information back to the original source.

Example:

text
Based on the materials in my knowledge base, summarize the main risks of this project.

When your question involves latest news, real-time data, or public web content, enable Web Search.

Example:

text
Search for AI Agent product updates from the past week and summarize the key points.

Create Content

You can describe your writing request directly in the chat box, such as an article, summary, outline, email, or report.

Example:

text
Based on the 3 articles I selected, write a reading summary that I can share with my team.

Organize the Knowledge Base

If you have many materials, inconsistent names, or need a new classification structure, use Agent 2.1 to propose a plan first, then confirm whether to execute it.

Example:

text
Check the competitor research materials in the team namespace and propose a folder structure by company and topic. Do not modify anything yet; give me the plan first.

Tips

  • If you only want to ask a question, use Agent 1.1 directly.
  • If the task requires multiple steps, such as “search + read + summarize + create a document,” use Agent 2.1.
  • If you want the answer to use only specific materials, add those resources to the chat first.
  • If you need up-to-date information, enable Web Search.
  • If the task may change your knowledge base, ask Agent 2.1 to “give me the plan first, do not modify anything yet.”
  • For long conversations, use the left-side navigation or Back to bottom to move around quickly. With Agent 2.1, also watch context usage.
  • After an answer is generated, use Copy Markdown or Save to Personal Space for later organization and reuse.

Availability

  • Basic namespaces support Agent 1.1.
  • Pro namespaces support Agent 2.1.
  • Each Basic namespace has 10 Agent 2.1 trial uses every 24 hours. When trial uses run out, new chats switch to Agent 1.1.
